by Michael Wells Brady’s visit to the clinic on Tuesday was totally uneventful. He is doing exceptionally well and everything is set for Monday at CHOP. We have 4 more days at home to enjoy our son and then the very serious phase of his treatment will get underway. He will begin the conditioning chemotherapy around 2:00am on Tuesday morning and this will continue for 11 days. In a future journal entry I will let everyone know the details of this protocol as it is rather detailed. But for the next 4 days; we are going to be together as a “normal” family and if I don’t write an entry every day please understand it’s because our life is back to its rather simple state which Sherrie and I both relish. Until next time; your prayers, hugs and good thoughts are working for Brady beyond my cynical thoughts so please continue them. Also, Brady’s friend Lauren is finally going to have her surgery tomorrow so please add a prayer for this beautiful 4 year old little girl. Thank you…“8 Years Later—Still No Cure for Pediatric Cancer” is a series of posts revisiting the journal kept by Sherrie and Michael Wells during the cancer diagnosis and treatment of their son, Brady Michael. Hopefully these entires will provide an understanding of the journey families face when dealing with these horrific diseases and of the important work the Hugs for Brady Foundation does.
