by Michael Wells Welcome Home Brady What a wonderful slogan to type. We will be leaving Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia sometime around noon. Grandpa and I will be traveling down to Philly to meet the “ladies” and bring our baby home. Brady is in wonderful spirits. His health is improving every day and he continues to learn so quickly it is hard to keep up with him. Yesterday, Sherrie was spelling the word ‘ice’ and Brady repeated her saying; I, C, E and then to everyone’s astonishment said the word ICE! So now, we must be very careful what we spell around him. I sure hope he copies his Mom and not me or he will be spelling everything wrong. Brady has been going for walks the last couple of days outside the hospital and he really enjoys them. Yes, Aunt Ellen we will be passing your house numerous times this weekend as well as Frank’s, Steve’s, Tony’s, Bunker’s, Danny’s and Debbie’s houses as well. We cannot wait to start our nightly walks again. Well that for now except before I say good-bye; one thing I have learned during this period of my life is just how many children are fighting similar diseases like Brady. One of Brady’s friends Mark Levine is going to have his 4th surgery to beat this beast. Please when you pray, add a prayer or two for all the children suffering from this horrible hellish monster. No child deserves to experience what these kids endure every day. Thank you for your tremendous support, please continue your prayers, good thoughts and hug someone special for Brady…“8 Years Later—Still No Cure for Pediatric Cancer” is a series of posts revisiting the journal kept by Sherrie and Michael Wells during the cancer diagnosis and treatment of their son, Brady Michael. Hopefully these entires will provide an understanding of the journey families face when dealing with these horrific diseases and of the important work the Hugs for Brady Foundation does.
