by Michael Wells My personal thanks for the overwhelming outpouring of love and well wishes for our son Brady, it means more than I can possibly express. Brady has had a very stressful day receiving another lumbar puncture, another bone marrow biopsy, a picc catheter surgically inserted into his arm and his first regiment of chemotherapy. He was anesthetized for about an hour and when he returned from the recovery room started playing peek-a-boo and smiling. His temperature dropped to 96.4 and he actually ate some ice cream and a banana. He was in great spirits and I must say I was just elated. That said, an hour later Brady vomited all over me. It was just wonderful. He is now sleeping and waiting to get a transfusion as he is a little anemic. We still don’t know what type of Leukemia he has but we are all hopeful it is T-Cell ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) which is the “Best of the Worst” we can hope for. I will try to keep you posted on his results, again thanks for all your love and kind words… Brady really appreciates it!!!! Brady has been awake for the past 3 hours and is none too happy and his temperature is now around 101.3 nothing to worry about is the official line. nothing my ass I guess it’s what chemo is all about…“8 Years Later—Still No Cure for Pediatric Cancer” is a series of posts revisiting the journal kept by Sherrie and Michael Wells during the cancer diagnosis and treatment of their son, Brady Michael. Hopefully these entires will provide an understanding of the journey families face when dealing with these horrific diseases and of the important work the Hugs for Brady Foundation does.
