A Letter from a Sick Child’s Mother
Letters like this one from Zion’s mom, Sara, inspire us. What may seem impossible for families like theirs, you make possible. It’s an exciting time for the Hugs for Brady Foundation. Hugs for Brady partners with New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital to provide sedation-free MRIs
Hugs for Brady partners with New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital to provide sedation-free MRIs to our youngest patients. There are risks associated with the use of anesthesia and as such, this sedation-free MRI is truly an amazing development. The approach to these MRI scans is based on a patient-centered plan involving a certified child life specialist (CCLS), the patient and his or her family, and preparation sessions to… [Read More]
How the Cancer Moonshot Could Cure Rare Cancers
The idea of a Cancer Moonshot was first suggested by Vice President Joe Biden in October 2015, in conjunction with his announcement that he would not be seeking to run for president. Amidst his address about the way that America should go in the future, he included his idea, saying, “I believe we need a moonshot in this country to cure cancer. It’s personal, but I know we can do this.” He went on to discuss how he and President Obama were working hard to increase funding for a massive effort to find a cure for cancer. A few months… [Read More]
