The 2014 Pediatric Cancer Humanitarian of the Year Award honors Dinesh T. Ramchandani! For embodying what it means to go way above and beyond in helping kids with cancer, Thank you, our friend & benefactor.
Thank you Dinesh, from the bottom of our hearts!
Born in New York, NY, Dinesh T. Ramchandani was raised in Cedar Grove, NJ before moving to Florida in the sixth grade. After a year, his family spent two years in Mumbai, India before returning to the United States, where Dinesh graduated from Fair Lawn High School.
Dinesh began his professional career with Circuit City before moving to Best Buy in 2006. In 2013, Dinesh left Best Buy to focus his entrepreneurial talents on MAX Challenge; he and his wife Amanda own franchises in both
South Brunswick and
Hillsborough. At MAX, Dinesh’s goal is to change the world one person at a time.
When Dinesh first met Mike Wells, he saw the
Hugs for Brady logo on Mike’s jacket and thought he was a cardiac surgeon. Mike and Sherrie told Dinesh about their son, Brady, and the work their Foundation does to find a cure for pediatric cancer. Right away, Dinesh knew they had met for a reason, and he quickly became one of
Hugs for Brady’s most valued volunteers.
For the past three years, Dinesh has committed to doing whatever is needed to support
Hugs for Brady – volunteering his time, soliciting corporate sponsorships, and getting the word out about the Foundation and its work everywhere possible.
Upon the occasion of their wedding, Dinesh and his wife Amanda chose to share their special day by honoring
Hugs for Brady. They encouraged guests to take photos of themselves hugging one another; for every picture taken, Dinesh and Amy donated a dollar to
Hugs for Brady.
Dinesh likes to have fun and spread joy so that the people around him are happy. He will do whatever he can to make sure people are always smiling. One of his favorite quotes is from Plato, “Be Kind; Everyone You Meet is Fighting a Hard Battle.” That’s how he lives his life trying to make sure people are kind and helpful to each other, something he learned from his father, Puran.
Dinesh and his beautiful wife Amanda live in South Brunswick, NJ with their 10 year old daughter, Nevaeh.
