Local Girl Scouts provide Craft Boxes to Teens with Cancer

These two Girl Scouts are really making a difference for the Hugs for Brady Foundation. What can you do to help children and teens battling cancer?

Mary and Sarah put together boxes of craft projects for teen boys and girls on the oncology floor at a local hospital. The idea was all their own. They included instructions on how to do several different crafts, making sure each could be done from a hospital bed. They even decorated the outside of the boxes to make them look and feel special!

All of us at the Hugs for Brady Foundation would like to send a huge THANK YOU to these thoughtful young women, Sarah and Mary. It is inspiring young people like you that help us remember why we are fighting pediatric cancer in the first place. We are honored to know you and are ecstatic to hear you both express an interest in working with the Hugs for Brady Foundation for your individual gold award projects in the next few years! While helping to find a cure is the ultimate goal of the Hugs for Brady Foundation, we understand the importance of helping those battling pediatric cancer to live like kids. We strive to provide them with fun and safe activities that make their lives better, especially while they are staying in the hospital.

Recently Hugs for Brady has had the pleasure of installing 20 TVs and gaming stations at the Robert Wood Johnson University Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital, to provide entertainment to kids spending extended periods of time in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit. We’re also pleased to have contributed to the remodeling efforts of both playrooms within this same hospital, to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for children.

We need your help! Would you like to be a volunteer with the Hugs for Brady Foundation or make a donation which will directly impact children battling this horrible illness?
