Pennies are Priceless when Given from the Heart
This is the first year since Brady passed that we decided to put our grief on hold and decorate the house for Christmas. As our 2-year-old twin boys were busy decorating the tree, I heard a quiet knock at the door. When I opened the door a little girl stood there with a letter and a bag of pennies. She told me her name is Danyale and that she is 8 years old. As she handed me the bag and the letter (shown above) and she told me that she has seen pictures of Brady, how cute he is, and that she wants to give money to help him feel better. I asked her how she got all of these pennies and she told me that she would ask her family for their pennies whenever she saw that they had change. I told little Danyale that she was an inspiration to all of us and that her pennies would be used to help many really sick kids her age to feel better. We said our good byes, I closed the door, I looked at our family decorating our Christmas tree, and I wept. An 8 year old child had just touched my heart.
