UNC Children’s Test Drives Their New Brady Buggy®

On May 5th the UNC Children’s received a new Brady Buggy® wagon. It is not only the first wagon for the hospital but also the first for the state of North Carolina. Patients along with their parents and UNC Children’s staff couldn’t wait try out their Brady Buggy wagon by taking a few laps around the floor.

Also present was Kellie Brockman. Kellie is one Hugs for Brady’s biggest supporters. She has been life-long friends with Sherrie Wells (founder of Hug for Brady) and was like an aunt to Brady. Kellie is currently employed at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh and was able to be at UNC Children’s for this joyous event as a representative of the foundation. Joining her were her two co-workers Natalie Krohl (nurse) and Lily Gillmor (nurse navigator). Both are passionate people with pediatric experience.

Kellie believes that every person, child or adult, should have the best quality of life and support.  She hopes to see a cure for the horrors of childhood cancers and will continue to work towards that goal. Her heart and support goes out to all who are experiencing this journey.  Brady taught her so much about life, love and hope.

Our greatest wish is for this wagon to bring many smiles and moments of happiness. Hopefully this is the first of many more Brady Buggy wagons zipping around halls of UNC Children’s in the near future.   Like to donate a buggy to your favorite institution?
