8 Years Later—Still No Cure for Pediatric Cancer – 214

07/30/2010

by Michael Wells Today, at 5:13am our beautiful loving Brady was pronounced dead. Please allow Sherrie and me a little time to compose ourselves. I will do my best to let you know the “arrangements” as quickly as possible. Now I ask each of you to hug everyone you love, pray for our baby’s entry into heaven and think only good, no GREAT thoughts of our Brady.
This is the obituary announcement that will be appearing in various newspapers: Brady Michael Wells, 23 Months of Kendall Park, New Jersey died at home on Friday, July 30, 2010, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Brady is the inspiration for the creation of the Hugs for Brady Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and resources for Pediatric Cancer. Brady is survived by his parents Michael F. and Sherrie M. Wells, a sister Jennifer J. Wells, a brother Stephen M. Wells, his maternal grandparents Janice and S. Gary Sivco, his paternal grandmother Margaret M. Wells and several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. The Funeral service will be held 10:30a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at The Kingston Presbyterian Church, 4565 Route 27, Kingston, New Jersey. Burial will be private. Friends may call on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 4:00 – 9:00pm. at the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton, New Jersey. “Brady loves flowers”. The family respectfully asks that you honor Brady by sending flowers and making a memorial contribution to HugsforBrady.org

“8 Years Later—Still No Cure for Pediatric Cancer” is a series of posts revisiting the journal kept by Sherrie and Michael Wells during the cancer diagnosis and treatment of their son, Brady Michael. Hopefully these entires will provide an understanding of the journey families face when dealing with these horrific diseases and of the important work the Hugs for Brady Foundation does.
