by Michael Wells Thursday morning and really nothing to report regarding Brady’s health other than he is doing wonderfully well. It’s beyond my wildest imagination how great it is to have our baby back home and acting like a 17 month toddler. I will keep you posted on any developments but right now our lives are rather boring and I really like it this way. Keep the prayers, hugs and good thoughts coming Brady’s way as I assure you he is going to need all of them very soon… Thank you to… Kellie for your love, support, and delicious care packages all the way from North Carolina, we love you! Brittany for raising over $4,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society marathon, way to go! Debbie and Dan for the wonderful homemade meal as well as removing all of the snow from our sidewalks, much appreciated! Brady’s home care nurses Pam and Robin for taking such great care of Brady on a daily basis, and going through snowstorms to do it! Marie Lynn for the beautiful locket with Brady’s photo inside, I will cherish it forever. Maeve and Maren for the “stuffed” red roses for Brady for Valentine’s Day, that was so sweet of both of you! He also loves his puppy book. Aunt Barbara & Uncle John for the chicken noodle soup, Brady feels better already! Ellen and Frank for the continued support given to us on a daily basis, you are amazing! Maureen for the beautiful clothes for Brady, they were much needed as our baby boy is getting so big so fast! Friends and Family that are donating blood this Saturday, it means the world to us and children with cancer that continuously need transfusions. Local business owners that were kind enough to allow us to put up posters announcing the blood drive; you did a great service to the community! Steve Jones, President and CEO of RWJ Hospital, for your generous donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, in honor of Brady. The Hugs for Brady Foundation will ALWAYS be in support of other foundations who allow people to donate blood, platelets, plasma, or register to become a bone marrow donor. However, we no longer ask supporters to donate financially to ‘The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’ as their focus on childhood cancers does not coincide with our foundation’s mission.
“8 Years Later—Still No Cure for Pediatric Cancer” is a series of posts revisiting the journal kept by Sherrie and Michael Wells during the cancer diagnosis and treatment of their son, Brady Michael. Hopefully these entires will provide an understanding of the journey families face when dealing with these horrific diseases and of the important work the Hugs for Brady Foundation does.
