Help Hugs for Brady support much-needed pediatric cancer research at RCINJ

Hello again friends,

It has been too long since we’ve seen your smiling faces. The past two years have been a struggle for so many. Hugs for Brady has felt the struggle, too. We know in many ways the world has changed, and while that may be true, consider this: Cancer hasn’t stopped. It hasn’t gone away. Cancer is still taking the lives of far too many children.

In 2018, Hugs for Brady partnered with the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey to open The Hugs for Brady Foundation Pediatric Cancer Research Lab. Under the direction of Dr. Peter Cole, the RCINJ laboratory is devoted to state-of-the-art research aimed at helping the youngest of cancer patients by improving treatment options. Labs like this are unique—and critical: only 4% of cancer research goes to pediatric cancer research. Is that the best we can do for our children—4%? Don’t they deserve more?

Consider some of the amazing work they’ve been doing at the RCINJ lab:

“… the Rutgers Cancer Institute is at the cutting edge, developing a better understanding of what makes cancers tick, so that we can create the newest anticancer strategies and offer the best treatments to our patients.”

—Dr. Cole

We know times are tough. We know we ask for a lot when we ask you to give us anything you can spare. Hugs for Brady has always relied on events to gather together, to call our friends, family and supporters to action. Since 2020, we have lost our voice to make that call to action, and sadly, we have lost too many young cancer patients. We must do what we can before we lose one more life.

We cannot continue funding pediatric cancer research at RCINJ without your support. So please donate today. Every dollar makes a difference in the search for more effective treatments and therapies. Every single dollar makes an impact.
